the soul.

So'ra tends to be reserved around people she does not know       Once she's comfortable, she's much less reserved. She has a great sense of humor, and she's more outspoken than her first impression tends to suggest. She's kind by nature and quick to help when it matters, though she's also painfully forgetful and somehow manages to be clumsy at the worst possible time. Anyone who spends enough evenings at the Umbral Hands Tavern has probably seen her lose a plate, miss a step, or narrowly avoid turning someone's dinner into a floor decoration.

She's happiest when she embarks on a quest or search for a rare item. Old ruins, forgotten places, treasure maps, strange artifacts and rumors that probably aren't worth following tend to catch her attention. That curiosity is part of what keeps Lumielle Occult Shop stocked. So'ra collects unusual objects wherever she travels and has a weakness for things with uncertain histories. She'll buy them, trade for them, or spend far too long trying to figure out where they came from. When she's staying closer to home, she keeps herself occupied with weaving, baking, alchemy, photography, and playing instruments.

& key items.

important items commonly found in their inventory.

     The Sable Covenant
A silver ring adorned with a crimson gemstone, designed to store and regulate So'ra's Blackblood. It continuously channels small amounts of stored energy into her body, enhancing her physical strength and allowing her to carry and wield her unusually heavy greatsword. The ring also limits her energy output, preventing excessive strain on her body. Its reserves are finite, however, and prolonged exertion can leave her physically exhausted and unable to wield her weapon effectively.

     Hardy-daytona
Built for speed and long stretches of open road, the machine has carried her across more of Eorzea than she can remember.
She keeps it remarkably well maintained compared to most things she owns, treating every new scratch with considerably more concern than she probably should.

     ultimate omega claymore
an imposing greatsword forged in the image of Omega, its dark metallic frame broken by brilliant, shifting light that seems almost mechanical in nature. The weapon carries an unmistakably otherworldly presence, looking less like something traditionally forged and more like something engineered for a purpose few could understand.
Despite its size, So'ra carries it with practiced familiarity. Of all the strange artifacts and weapons she's collected throughout her travels, the claymore remains one of the pieces she's particularly proud of earning.

     edenmorn ultimate pistol
Refined compared to many of the heavier weapons she carries, it combines something almost delicate in appearance with unmistakable power.
She keeps it close whenever a greatsword would be more trouble than it's worth. It is also one of the rarer pieces in her collection, and one she has absolutely no intention of putting on the shelves of Lumielle Occult Shop.

     Umbral Hands earring
A small earring worn on So'ra's ear, marking her place among the Umbral Hands Hearts. Simple enough to go unnoticed by most, it carries more meaning to her than its appearance would suggest. She rarely takes it off, keeping it with her whether she's working at the tavern, traveling across Eorzea, or heading somewhere considerably more dangerous.

the history.

So'ra Lumielle is the only adoptive daughter of House Lumielle, a minor Ishgardian noble family whose fortune declined under the weight of debts accumulated through its involvement in the Dragonsong War. Born on the 12th Sun of the Sixth Umbral Moon to a poor nomadic family from the Sagolii Desert, So'ra was adopted by House Lumielle when she was only a year old, not entirely out of charity, but with the intention of eventually using her as a political and social bargaining piece. Raised among Ishgardian nobility and within a family devoted to Thaliak, the Scholar, she eventually cut ties with House Lumielle and left the Ishgardian court behind. The one connection she maintained was Lumielle Occult Shop, a modest family business she inherited and continues to operate, collecting, trading, and selling unusual artifacts, alchemical goods, old tomes, and other curiosities gathered throughout her travels.

A young Miqo'te adventurer, So'ra has spent much of her adult life wandering Eorzea alongside her longtime friend and protector, Zadde de Phoeanoix. Both were adopted into Ishgardian nobility and grew close through their shared experiences as outsiders. Their lives took a dangerous turn when So'ra began overhearing suspicious conversations within House Lumielle's manor and the Church's temple, uncovering possible connections between her adoptive family and loyalists of the former Holy See. After confiding in Zadde, the two gradually became targets of those seeking to keep these dealings concealed, eventually forcing them to flee Ishgard together.Since then, So'ra has found a home among the Umbral Hands, dividing her time between working at their tavern, accepting mercenary contracts, hunting the occasional voidsent, practicing alchemy, and collecting curiosities for the Lumielle Occult Shop. Despite her small stature, she is rarely seen without her unusually large greatsword. Though she has tried to distance herself from her family's affairs, recent irregularities within her shop's ledgers have raised new questions about House Lumielle's activities. With Guntharr Snow, an Ishgardian knight connected to the family and the old Church, continuing to pursue both her and Zadde, the circumstances that drove them from Ishgard remain unresolved.Warm clothing will always beSo'ra's preference, however, Sora's hobbies include weaving, so she is always prepared for the unexpected. Picnics, dungeons, treasure hunts, gathering plants or materials, working at the tavern or her shop, she will always try her best to dress for the occasion. So'ra is of smaller stature, but is capable of carrying a big sword that is almost her equal in size, she has long black hair but likes to cut it short every now and then! She always wears her Umbral Hand's earring on her right ear.

    clothing

Warm clothing will always beSo'ra's preference, however, Sora's hobbies include weaving, so she is always prepared for the unexpected. Picnics, dungeons, treasure hunts, gathering plants or materials, working at the tavern or her shop, she will always try her best to dress for the occasion. So'ra is of smaller stature, but is capable of carrying a big sword that is almost her equal in size, she has long black hair but likes to cut it short every now and then!     love for food

Food is another very easy way to get So'ra's attention. She isn't particularly picky and loves discovering new taverns, cafés, restaurants, and little shops throughout Eorzea. Some of her favorite foods include Acqua Pazza, Tender Shortcake, Omelette Rice, Tandoori Raptor, and Sideretis Cookies. She's less enthusiastic about Skyr, Onyx Tears, Shroud Lands, Clam Cake, and Tesleen, though even those are more least favorites than foods she outright refuses to eat. If there's somewhere new to eat, don't be shy about inviting her. Chances are she'll want to come along.

    shadow from ishgard

Lately, So'ra can't shake the feeling that someone is watching her. A familiar knight named Guntharr Snow has been asking questions about her whereabouts, her activities, and, more concerningly, the people she calls friends, could Guntharr's influence be behind this?

    lumielle occult shop

Nowadays the shop specializes in occult curiosities, unusual artifacts, alchemical goods, old tomes and rare objects gathered from throughout Eorzea. Some are valuable, some have peculiar histories, and others are probably only valuable because Sora insists they are. Adventurers, treasure hunters and merchants are welcome to bring in unusual discoveries for appraisal, trade or sale. Sora is especially fond of objects with strange stories attached to them and has been known to accept particularly interesting artifacts in exchange for gil, favors or mercenary work.

    The Sable Covenant

A silver ring adorned with a crimson gemstone, the Sable Covenant serves as both a reservoir and regulator for So'ra's Blackblood. Its enchantments allow her to store excess energy and continuously channel small, controlled amounts back into her body, reinforcing her muscles and granting her strength beyond what her small stature would ordinarily permit. This constant flow of energy is what allows her to carry and wield her unusually large and heavy greatsword with relative ease, even outside combat. The ring also acts as a limiter, preventing So'ra from drawing upon more Blackblood than her body can safely withstand. During combat, she can temporarily increase its output to strengthen her attacks, though doing so rapidly depletes its reserves. The ring cannot generate Blackblood on its own and must be replenished through her abilities as a Dark Knight.Having relied upon the ring for so long, So'ra has grown accustomed to its effects, rarely giving its constant expenditure of energy much thought. However, prolonged use can leave her physically exhausted, while removing or disabling the ring would deprive her of its reinforcement. Although she retains her natural strength and Dark Knight abilities, her greatsword becomes considerably more difficult to handle without it, leaving her vulnerable to the physical limitations she has grown used to overcoming.

    on the run

Following their discovery of suspicious dealings involving House Lumielle and loyalists of the former Holy See, So'ra and her longtime friend Zadde de Phoeanoix were forced to flee Ishgard. With Guntharr Snow and his associates pursuing them, the two spent years traveling across Eorzea, taking mercenary contracts and odd jobs to support themselves while keeping their distance from their former lives. Zadde remained a close friend and protector throughout their travels, particularly as So'ra's curiosity occasionally drew them into trouble.Eventually, So'ra found a sense of belonging among the Umbral Hands, a Free Company that offered her the companionship and independence she had rarely experienced growing up. She began working at their tavern while continuing her mercenary work, alchemical studies, and management of the Lumielle Occult Shop. Though she has settled into a relatively peaceful routine, the lingering influence of the old Church and the renewed activities of House Lumielle serve as reminders that neither she nor Zadde has entirely escaped their past.

    Guntharr snow

Guntharr Snow is an Ishgardian knight and longtime supporter of House Lumielle, having remained loyal to the old order even after the fall of Archbishop Thordan VII. Knighted during the Dragonsong War, he carries himself with the pride expected of Ishgard's old nobility and holds tightly to many of its prejudices.
Guntharr has known So'ra since childhood and was always aware of the truth behind her adoption into House Lumielle. With So'ra now dangerously close to uncovering the family's dealings, he has been tasked with finding her, learning how much she knows, and returning her to Ishgard before she can interfere further.
For now, Guntharr prefers to watch rather than confront her directly. He has begun quietly following So'ra's movements and taking an interest in the people around her, looking for anything that might make bringing her home easier. To him, So'ra's years away from Ishgard have changed little. She is still a daughter of House Lumielle, and eventually, willingly or otherwise, he intends to see her returned to it.

relationship type       enemies

    shiro yume

Shiro and So'ra met 5 years after So'ra made her escape from Ishgard. Whether by fate or simple luck, it was Shiro and her husband, Covva, who unknowingly gave So'ra the place she would eventually come to consider home. Their friendship has remained strong ever since, built through countless evenings at the tavern and journeys across Eorzea together. Despite their different personalities, they share a curiosity for the occult and unusual forms of magic, giving them no shortage of questionable things to investigate. Shiro remains one of So'ra's closest companions.

relationship type       friends, umbral hands

    covva yume

So'ra first met Covva during her travels with Zadde around The Shroud, a fateful meeting that would eventually lead to her joining the Umbral Hands. What began as another unfamiliar face gradually became one of the most important friendships she made after leaving Ishgard. So'ra trusts Covva deeply, both as the leader of the Hands and as someone she can rely on when things turn dangerous. His tendency to look after those around him has earned a loyalty from So'ra that goes well beyond simply following orders. Between contracts, expeditions, and far too many nights at the tavern, she has come to regard Covva and the company he built as part of the home she chose for herself.

relationship type       friends, umbral hands

    Zadde de Phoeanoix

One of So'ra's oldest and closest friends, Zadde first met her during his early years in Ishgard. Both were outsiders who found themselves tied to noble households, and their shared experiences brought them together despite their different backgrounds. Their friendship endured through the Dragonsong War, the changing political climate of Ishgard, and their eventual departures from the city. Zadde has long acted as a protective figure in So'ra's life, often accompanying her on dangerous excursions or intervening when her curiosity gets the better of her. Though she occasionally complains about his concern, So'ra trusts him more than most and considers him one of the few people who truly understands her past.

relationship type       childhood friends, umbral hands

    f'lllen snow

Guntharr took F'llen under his protection shortly after she was warped into Eorzea, despite the prejudice he holds toward Miqo'te. His reasons were never entirely charitable. Her unusual mastery oftime and space magic, along with knowledge of things far beyond his understanding made her a curiosity he could not simply ignore. He allowed F'llen to take the Snow name, giving the newly arrived outsider a place within Ishgardian society, and provided her with gil, shelter, and stability while she found her footing in an unfamiliar world. What began as an arrangement of convenience eventually settled into something difficult to define, somewhere between patronage, obligation, and family. Guntharr may never fully accept what F'llen is, yet he has never been willing to cast her aside. Their connection remains something F'llen has kept entirely to herself, not mentioning it to anyone associated the Umbral Hands.

relationship type       associate, umbral hands

    luchika lorentz

Luchika is So'ra's trusted mechanic and usually the first person she turns to when one of her bikes starts making a noise it definitely shouldn't. Her experience with magitek has made her responsible for much of the maintenance and repairs So'ra either can't handle herself or probably shouldn't be trusted to attempt. The two get along easily, and So'ra has grown accustomed to finding Luchika somewhere beneath a machine with tools scattered around her. In return, So'ra does her best not to mention how the bike ended up damaged in the first place.

relationship type       friends, umbral hands

    Brandic Custos

A fellow member of the Umbral Hands, Brandic is a wandering sellsword from Gyr Abania whom So'ra has come to know through their occasional sparring matches. His unusual fighting style, particularly his use of a floating shield and magic, has caught her interest. Though their encounters often leave her bruised, she enjoys testing her strength against his. So'ra is equally curious about his homeland and the experiences of a man who has spent much of his life on the road, often finding excuses to ask him questions between bouts.
